It’s officially fall and updating my wardrobe is one of my favorite parts to any change of season, ya with me? When shopping and justifying new purchases I always try and weigh out if I “need” something and if I will get a lot of use out of it. A Black turtleneck,a Fishermans sweater, and fitted flannels can be layered, go day to night, and worn for nearly half the year, every year, so in short- YES I will get a lot of use out of them and thus, I “need” them and so do you. Below I styled each top for the work week to the weekend and paired them with a lot of affordable accessories and ya’ll the earrings are to die for!
P.S. This post took way longer than it should have (I’m talking hours, ok maybe days) so check out and let me know what you think!
A black turtleneck can really be worn so many different ways its insane. I have to wear black to work most days and own a lot of different styles so I don’t feel like I am in a uniform. Personally I love this Splendid turtleneck from Nordstrom that is a cotton, spandex blend and slightly more fitted. Thein image above is a classic sweater version, from Jcrew Factory that is under $40- done and done. Most importantly though- earrings
O.K. so this is the deal of the year- You want to own more than one flannel so grab another but lets buy one of better quality that’s actually warm and will stand the test of time. I love these from L.L.Bean options that are on SALE now for under $50 that are super cute and functional. I dress up and down my flannels at work, for parties tucked into a skirt- its festive and also looks effortless. Also be sure to click around on the links below because a lot of the items are really affordable. This American Flag ball cap is pretty legit. Being in DC its a no brainier because America, USA, Election season, #Nats, do yourself a favor and enjoy.
This Sweater is what inspired this post. I am constantly seeing great sweaters around on blogs/instagram/pintrest and I love that I have found these awesome Fishermans Sweaters from L.L.Bean because they are legit. They are a little more of an investment (still under $100) but are so much better quality you will have them for more than one season so in the end it pays for itself. I am sure if you grab this one (pictured above and tunic) or this one that falls at your natural waist and on SALE you will be wearing them all fall and winter. Think apple picking, skiing, snow storms, hot coco, OK I’ll stop its still fall.
