DC Restaurant Week 2016 Title
Next week is the start of what is formally known as, “Metropolotian Washington Restaurant Week” where some of the top restaurants in the DMV offer a select menu for lunch ($22) and or dinner ($35). If you are anything like me I always want to try new places, eat great food and having a little one isn’t going to stop me. To compile this list I first went to Washingtonians Very Best Restaurants of 2016  to read about the best of the best. I then followed up by calling or visiting each place to insure I was comfortable bringing Grace along, that they offered high chairs, and there would be kid food options. I have eaten at 4 of the 10 and plan on checking some more off this week. Bon Appetite!
  1. Casa Luca -Italian-  On this this list Casa Luca is the highest ranked from the Washingtonian’s list at #9. It is reminiscent of eating out in the Italian country side and can accommodate your kids with any pasta, or pizza like flat breads.
  2. Central Michel Richard -American, French- Micheal Richard who recently passed away was a James Beard Award Winner married both American and French cuisine as only the best can do. The plus for your kids? They have French fries!
  3. Estadio -Spanish- While only open during lunch it will be well worth it for a mid-day break and AC fun with your family. The best thing about small plates is that there are several things to choose from and something for everyone.
  4. Jaleo -Spanish- You have hopefully been here before because the food is great and the atmosphere is fun. Your kids will surely be impressed with the croquettes served in a ceramic sneaker!
  5. The Riggsby -American- OK this one might be more for the parents- Why? Because while The Riggsby is only offering a select menu for lunch you can sub any of the three lunch courses with a martini! You’re Welcome. Not to mention there are a lot of kid friendly menu items your kids will love.
  6. Bibiana -Italian- This place is known not only for their food but for their service, they go above and beyond to give you the most enjoyable overall experience. That extends to the whole family by making any menu modifications for your picky eater.
  7. Kapnos and Kanpos Taverna -Greek- Another Mike Isabella home run where the plates keep coming and the menu has something for everyone. Also important to note they are extended their restaurant week through 8/28 and offer a 5 course menu for $55.
  8. Del Campo -South American- This places has been described as having swag and generous portions of assorted steak cuts. Sold for the carnivorous family.
  9. Zaytinya -Greek, Lebanese, Turkish- A truly grandiose space where there’s a modern twist on all your small plate favorites and something for everyone.
  10. Ghibellina -Italian- A Gastro Pub with lots of Italian favorites on the menu and pizza for the littles. More of a bar feel than some of the other restaurants on the list.
